Willow in the Stream
Wednesday, November 30th, 2011I have squeezed all my resources and I think the well is about to run dry, being a single mother is a big responsibility, for I just gave birth to my baby two months ago, I have to take care of myself and the baby as well. When I was 4 months pregnant the father of my child run away from me, I was balancing work and my studies, though it seemed ambitious, I was able to finish the semester in school, but I have to quit my job when I gave birth. Since my parents were gone years ago and I have no siblings at all, I was practically an orphan, now, I am facing the reality and burden of being a mother, it came to a point of being in depression, but I need to move on. Surfing the net at the cafeteria one afternoon, I came across this website that gives grants for single mothers, I did a comprehensive research and gathered information. It gave me an idea that grants are categorized from educational grants, housing grants, business grants, or daycare grants for single moms, and aside from the government grants, there are private nonprofit helping organizations too that we can rely on. I sent out emails and register on forms and was fortunate to have replies from them, so from then on, I keep myself posted and hoping to receive the educational and daycare grant that I applied for. I was fortunate to be accepted in the adult foster facility center, while waiting for the feedback if I was qualified for the grants, I grab the opportunity for aside from regular food allowance, they offered free housing for the first three months. After I registered online for the grants for single mothers a month ago, I was informed that I was eligible for both grants I applied for, and they are looking forward to meeting me the soonest possible time.
