Tears of Tales
Monday, February 6th, 2012Several years ago, sending pre approved credit card offers through the mail was a good way for companies to entice people to use their services; it still continues to be practice, although many are not that receptive to the offers unlike before. The offers still operate in pretty much the same way, with maybe a significant change in the rates to accommodate for today’s economy, but it seems that it is the attitude of the people towards their use that has altered. One good thing that was a result of the economic scare the whole country experienced could be the awareness that everyone now has of the perils of indiscriminate spending. For people to avoid the mistakes made in the past by those who now could not pay off their debts, it is important to know how credit cards work in order to take full advantage of them. My aunt has this system she has, wherein she uses the benefits of credit cards to her advantage; she avoids annual fees by continually accepting new credit cards as they are mailed to here, but she makes sure that the old ones have been paid off to avoid charges. She also told me that I should always pay more that than the stated minimum fee that is printed on the bill, or to pay off everything before the due date as much as I can. But the best advice I have ever gotten is to only use plastic for emergencies, and never for amounts that are way beyond my means.
